Open Government Lawmaker of the Year

In 2013, the Freedom of Information Foundation of Texas created the Open Government Lawmaker of the Year Award to honor Texas legislators dedicated to protecting public access to government and First Amendment principles. The award is given to deserving lawmakers after a legislative session and in other appropriate years. Past recipients are:
